Your Jivamukti Yoga Practice
Jivamukti Yoga means liberation in life, taken from the Sanskrit Jivanmuktih, which describes a state of enlightenment or realization of God. Jiva means individual soul and Mukti translates to liberation. This method was created by David Life and Sharon Gannon in 1984 in New York. Nowadays there are six types of classes: the first is open classes, centred on a theme as the focus of the month, secondly the basic class, exploring a different aspect of yoga each week, third the beginner classes following a sequence of asanas, slower and relaxed as a transition from a basic to an open class, fourth, Spiritual Warrior classes which are pure training, designed for busy people who only have one hour for the practice, fifth in class private, where the student and his teacher together attend a regular group class, and finally the method of Meditation, a mantra that teaches students to let go.
