Your Iyengar Yoga Practice
The Iyengar Yoga method was invented by the famous Indian yogi and guru B.K.S. Iyengar. The method includes 14 breathing techniques and more than 200 asanas which are mostly long-held asanas. To ensure perfect alignment and posture Iyengar added yoga props to his method: yoga blocks, yoga straps, and yoga bolsters. Nowadays these props are being used by most of the yogis around the world. Only this way can exercises be practiced effectively and also by yogis with physical or mental health.
In Iyengar Yoga, the asanas are being held longer than in other yoga styles and are reaching deeper layers of the body. Those who practice regularly reach a balance between strength, endurance, and flexibility both in the physical and emotional area.
